The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side behind the glove box. Tools: 7 mm socket wrench and screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the glove box and remove the piece of trim on the right side.
- Remove the trim above the glove box by unhooking it starting with the right side.
- Close your glove box and using a 7 mm wrench remove the 2 bolts that secure the bottom of the glove box.
- Then, keep removing 2 bolts that secure the top of the glove box.
- Open the glove box and pull out on the glove box assembly to unclip it from the vehicle.
- Tilt the glove box assembly and set it on its side to expose the connector on the back.
- There is a tab on the top of the light connector that will disconnect it from the light.
- Remove the 2 screws from the sides of the filter cover.
- Remove the old filter by pulling out from the housing.
- Install your new cabin air filter into the housing.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
