The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side behind the glove box. Tools: May use a standard screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the glove box.
- Look on the right hand side of the glove box and you will see an arm connected to the glove box. This is the dampener arm. Use a standard screwdriver to pry the arm loose from the glove box and allow the arm to hang free.
- Look inside the glove box and you will see 2 stops - one on each side towards the back of the glove box.
- Remove the stops by pushing in on each from the outside while pulling them free from the glove box on the inside.
- Once these stops are removed allow the glove box to hang down towards the floor on its bottom hinge.
- Look in the void left where the glove box was and you will see a cabin filter housing cover. Remove this cover by pressing in on the clips on either side and disengaging it from the housing.
- Remove the old filter from the housing.
- Insert your new cabin air filter.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure. Close the glovebox and it’s done.
