The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side of the vehicle under glove box. Tools: Standard screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the passenger side door. Open the glove box.
- Remove the dampener cord from the right hand side of the glove box
- Push in on each side of the glove box one side at a time until the glove box stops are disengaged.
- Once the stops are disengaged allow the glove box to swing down towards the floor out of the way.
- Carefully pull the glove box shelf from the instrument panel by carefully pulling it to you to disengage the 4 retainers
- Remove the cabin filter cover by disengaging the tab on the left and using a screwdriver to disengage the tab on the top in the middle. Remove the cover by opening it on its right side hinge and sliding the cover out from the hinge on the right side until it fully disengages.
- Remove the dirty filter by pulling it straight out and replace it with a new cabin filter.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
