The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh. Location of this cabin filter: Under the glove box on the right side of the middle console. Tools: Torx screwdriver
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model):
- Remove the instrument panel insulator that is under the glove box by pulling down two fasteners.
- Remove the Torx screw that is under the cabin air filter cover. (Careful not to drop the screw)
- Push in on the two clips on the cabin air filter cover and pull the cover out.
- Before the old filter is removed, take notice of the older filter's direction.
- Pull out the old cabin air filter and clean up the cabin if there are dust and leaves inside.
- Squeeze the new filter and push it in with the flow arrow oriented in the same direction as the old filter.
- Reinstall the cover, secure the screw, reinstall the bottom cover panel and two fasteners.
